Go Hogs!

Silly faces. :-)

I wish I had my video camera for this conversation. Hudson is telling Hadley, "Yes Had, we say Go Hogs! Mommy says it. Daddy says it. Hudson says it. You do it Had!"
My sweet little piggies!

Poor Hadley

A few weeks ago, our graceful Miss Hadley took a few tumbles. The first one happened in a parking lot. We had just got finished eating and we were talking in the parking lot. Hadley stood on the curb and decided to do a somersault off. She busted her little forehead open. It was awful! That was on a Thursday...

Then on Friday, I was telling our neighbors what had happened to her poor head the night before when she fell off of their tricycle onto their drive way and busted her head open again. I was trying to be so calm, but I was totally freaking out on the inside. Of course this is in the middle of week 1 of potty training Hudson. He had his first accident with the neighbors while I was trying to take care of Had.

Then on Saturday, Hadley tripped and fell and hit her head on a wooden rocking horse. Of course Hunter was on duty and her head was once again busted open, blood everywhere and I totally was about to take her to the hospital. I thought that she for sure had a concussion, but after a little while she was back to herself.

Well, then Sunday rolls around... Hudson decided to throw one of his heavy plastic toys (filled with batteries) to Had thinking she would catch it. Nope, it just busted the same spot for the 4th time. Once again lots of blood and me in tears.

We thought for sure there would be a huge scar or some sort of permanent damage, but it looks like there is NO scar and NO permanent damage. Thank you God for Hadley's hard head! :)

He did it!!!

I never thought that I would be writing this post. I've even been holding off writing it because I didn't want to jinx it, but it's official HUDSON IS POTTY TRAINED! We some what attempted it since he showed an interest on Christmas night, but we haven't pushed him. I always heard that "boys will do it when their ready".

Once the summer ended I thought for sure it probably wouldn't happen anytime soon since we were back in the "school routine" and I wasn't here to help him ever day. Well, once again Hudson proved me wrong. He woke up on the Sunday of my 2nd week of school and said, "Mommy, I have to go potty on the toilet." So we ran as fast as we could to the potty and he did it! Ever since then he's been doing great. We have an occasional accident every few days, but he has been doing great.

We had been telling him that once he goes potty on the big toilet we'll do what ever he wants. He wanted to go to the "ice cream store". Here is our "ice cream store" date (he even told us when he needed to go potty when we were on our date. :) We're so proud of you Hudson!!!

We're with Miller!

Hadley never likes bouncy houses, but she did okay in this one. :)
Hudson is a natural monkey. He did flips and somersaults and danced all around Had. Poor Had is so careful... just like mommy.

These are just 2 quick pictures that I got when we went to the lemonade stand supporting the Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation. Miller was a sweet little baby that went to Heaven after fighting the genetic disease SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). His wonderful parents are caring on and spreading the word through his foundation. They had a lemonade stand, a bouncy house and cookies. It was really hot out, but H and H had a great time bouncing with Miller's big brother Cole. I'm sure that lots of you have heard me talk about sweet baby Miller and his parents. Their strength and courage is absolutely inspiring. Check out their amazing story at colecrew.blogspot.com.

Fair 2011

We went to the fair this year. It was so hot that we had to wait until later in the evening to go which meant we only stayed a little while. We got to eat some yummy fair food, see all of the animals in the barn, visit the petting zoo, look at the artwork and we avoided all of the rides. :) Eating some HEALTHY fair food. :)

Hudson trying to eat his corn dog that was half the size of him.
I think I can... I think I can.

Holding the baby chicks.

Hadley loved the baby animals.

Hudson was so gentle with the baby chicks.

Petting the baby cows.

Hadley actually held a baby chick on her own, but she quickly put it back down.

Saying hi to the goats. This is Hudson's favorite animal. So we spent lots of time in the barn.

August Trip to the Lake

We had another fun trip to the lake, but once again I uploaded my pictures in reverse order so you get to see all of our goodbyes and then the fun we had. On this trip we got to see lots of our cousins and aunts and uncles from IL and MO. We can't wait until we get to see everyone again. WE LOVE OUR FAMILY!

Saying bye to Uncle Kord and Pops.
Bye cousin Bret!

This picture pretty much sums up my dad. He's a nut! :)

I love the lake!

We met up with our cousins and their friends on the lake to say goodbye to cousin Rob and Megan. They were getting ready to move to Colorado. So glad we got to see them before they left.

Had being silly. :)

My beached babies. They love their pool on the boat. It was perfect at the beginning of the summer when Hadley was still getting used to the lake. Once the kids got used to the water, the pool got kicked off the boat.

Hudson's Trip to Goody and Pop's House

Hudson took a trip to Goody and Pop's house this summer. Apparently he and Kody got in an argument on the way there because she wouldn't let him roll his windows down and open his door... thanks Aunt Kody. :) Kody said that he folded his arms and wouldn't talk to her for a good part of the drive. Hmmm... so you're saying our son is stubborn... we didn't know. Ha!

Once Hudson got there he was fine, but at bed time he got really homesick and called mommy, daddy and Hadley crying. He kept saying, "I need my Had!" It was horrible! While we were on the phone he got so upset that he got sick and threw up on Aunt Kody. Oops! Needless to say, we drove over the next day to spend the weekend with our little guy and bring him home. :) H's chauffeur (a.k.a. Aunt Kody)

Our little man.

Saying goodbye to daddy.

Can you tell that mommy was bawling?

Saying goodbye to his best friend. Poor Hadley cried on the way home and pretty much the whole time Hudson was gone. She missed him so much. :(
