We're Ready for Valentine's Day

We were supposed to go to my friend Sarah's today for a Valentine's play date, but we had to cancel because Hudson was coughing all night and poor Hadley had a hard time sleeping. I put them in their Valentine outfits anyway and took a few pictures. Hadley was not having it - she likes mommy to hold her. Hudson was being a ham and trying to get her to stop crying. He isn't trying to choke her in the first picture - he was actually hugging her because she was so upset. What a sweet boy! His shirt says "Cupid in my homeboy" and her little onesie says "mommy's little love bug". :)

Just the 3 of us...

Hadley was fussy before we left so Hudson is putting her paci in her mouth.

While Hunter was on duty we took our first trip out just the 3 of us! I had to document it because it is a huge milestone. Up until this point Hunter and I have some how managed to have one of us stay home with the kiddos while the other one takes care of errands. We HAD to go out because we were out of formula. We ended up going to Target and Wal Mart. The kids were great! I'm not so scared to do it again, but I did stock up on formula so that I wouldn't have to do it again very soon. :) It was freezing on this day and Hudson learned to say "BRRRRRR".

Quick Walk in the Snow

They looked too cute - I had to take a picture.

So I might be a bad mom. We just got our new double stroller (it is amazing!). I put it together, with Hudson's help, in about 20 minutes. We strolled around the house for a while, but the kids were restless and cranky on this day. There was some snow on the ground but it was melting because it was pretty warm and the sun was out. So I decided that we needed to get out - just for a little bit. We bundled up and took a walk to the mailbox and then to our friends at the end of the block. The kids had on 4 layers and loved the ride. I can't wait until it's warm. I could seriously jog and push this stroller with one finger. I'm in love with it!

Hudson's 1 Year Check Up

This was right before Hudson's 1 year check up. I still can't believe he is 1! The doctor said that he is perfect... I already knew that. He weighs 22 lbs and is 30 inches tall! He got 4 shots and was a real trooper. The nurse gave him his first 2 shots in his right leg and he stuck his bottom lip out and then she gave him the second 2 in the left leg and he cried. Poor baby! He hung onto me for 2 or 3 minutes and then gave me a big hug and a wet smooch and was back to himself. What a tough boy!

Playing in the Snow

Aunt Kody, Hudson and Craig

Hudson doesn't like the snow.

Much better when he is standing.

Craig is doing pretty good for an only child. :)

Kody and Craig came over on one of our many snow days to play with Hudson and hold Hadley. We decided that it would be so much fun to play in the snow with Hudson, but he is not a big fan of the snow yet. In fact, it took us longer to get his snow clothes on than the actual time that was spent outside. :)

Hudson is 1!

I can't believe our little guy is 1! He is getting so big. Hudson is a little daredevil who is full of so much curiosity. Each day he amazes us with his intelligence and whit. Here are some of the things that Hudson does: says uh oh, dada and daddy (momma when he is mad), mimics our tone when we are talking, jiber jabbers, eats real food, tries to use silverware, drinks real milk, says "ahhh" after he takes a drink, waves hi and bye, gives kisses, walks, plays hide and seek, plays peek-a-boo, plays catch, unrolls the toilet paper :), helps mom turn the lights on and off and open and close the door when my hands are full and so much more.

Hudson we love you so much and we feel so blessed that God gave you to us. We love you!

So busy!

We've been so busy! 2 babies are a lot of work. Hudson started walking at 11 1/2 months. He was a little wobbly for about 2 weeks, but he was very persistent. I think that he realized that he would have to walk in order to keep up with me because I seem to just be doing circles around our house - laundry... make a bottle... change a diaper... feed... change another diaper... make another bottle... try to get someone to sleep... change another diaper... etc. You get the point. He has also begun eating all people food and real milk. Hadley has been sleeping less during the day and has been eating 4 oz at each feeding for awhile now. It is so hard to get pictures of her when she is awake because my hands are always full. I'm working on it though. :)
