Hudson is 2!

I can't believe my little man is 2! Where in the world did time go? I remember just a few years ago when Hunter and I were trying to get pregnant and it just wasn't happening. After a year of trying we finally found out that we were expecting. I have never been so excited and nervous in my whole life. I sure did just get in bed for the next few days. I was so scared! I didn't want to do anything to jeopardize this amazing gift we had just been given. Eventually I got out of bed... and here we are 2 years later with the most amazing boy I have ever met. Happy 2nd Birthday Hudson!
I had a snow day on Hudson's birthday so we got to spend the whole day together. My parents were in town for H's party which was the next day. So we met up with them, my sisters and brother. We had great lunch and just hung out. Then we headed home for Hudson's birthday dinner, cake and presents.

Love this picture! I can totally tell that she is thinking, "Oh... that's how you do that."

Happy 2nd Birthday Hudson!

Best picture we could get. Thanks a lot you 2. Had wouldn't look at the camera and Hudson kept making faces. :)

This is how you open a gift. This picture doesn't really capture just how much fun Hudson has when he is opening presents. Seriously... paper flies everywhere. :)

He likes opening the bags much better. Those wrapped paper gifts just take too long.

Hadley 1 Year Ago

One year ago our sweet little Hadley came into our lives. We are so happy and so blessed to have received such a wonderful gift from God.
Hadley, we love you more than you will ever know. You are the best surprise that God could have ever given us.
Happy Birthday Ella Hadley!
Love,
Mommy, Daddy and Hudson

Hudson (11 months, 2 days), Mom and our brand new baby, Hadley.

Within one year we went from "the 2 of us" to "the 3 of us" and now "the 4 of us".

Ella Hadley

My sweet little girl! Happy Birthday Baby!

Hadley's 1st Birthday Party

So in midst of a crazy winter break with my cousin Karli's graduation, Hadley's birthday, her 1 year check up with shots, a skin cancer scare for me, a trip to my parents, Christmas, my mom's birthday, both kids throwing up and "number twoing"... we had Hadley's 1st birthday party.
Poor Hadley was doing so good and then half way through the party she threw up on Papa Keith. So after a quick bath, wardrobe change and clean up we got the party back on track, but my birthday girl just wasn't in a partying mood.

Hadley's smash cake... which never got smashed because she was too sick. That's okay... she probably wouldn't have smashed it anyway... she's kind of like me.

Hadley and Goodie (pre-sick)

Hadley and Mommy (post-sick)

Hadley watching Hudson open all of her gifts... again. This might be a problem next year. :)

Hudson riding in Had's baby stroller. While talking on her pink cell phone.

Hadley's cupcakes (hot pink, lime green and zebra)

Had was feeling a little better here, but still stuck to mommy (which isn't too unusual).

The 4 of us all smiling and looking in a similar direction!!! WOW!

Great Grandpa Johnny and Great Grandma Reva with the "floating" Hadley. She was getting cranky and wouldn't let anyone hold her but mom.

So this was Hudson after everyone left. Hunter ran to the store, I was cleaning up, Hadley was finally feeling a little better. Hudson climbed into his chair grabbed Had's zebra plate, a pink cupcake and attempted to eat it before he passed out.

And here is Hadley eating Hudson's cupcake crumbs off the floor. Poor birthday girl... the only cake she had was crumbs. :)

Christmas 2010

The kids and I went to Goodie and Pops house for Christmas. We went to church on Christmas Eve and then woke up to find all kinds of goodies for the kids.

I tried to rotate this picture, but it wouldn't cooperate. This is my brother and Hudson checking out all of the stockings and gifts before everyone else. I was upstairs looking down. Hudson was so excited he didn't know what to do first.
My mom's "30th Birthday". Mom's birthday is the day after Christmas so we got to spend it with her.

Hudson was going outside to help my dad, Kord and Hunter chop wood. Well... he mostly played on the swing set while they all took turns playing with him.

A quick little time out on Christmas. NO PUSHING YOUR SISTER! :)

Poor Hadley had one too many falls on Christmas. She is getting pretty adventurous trying to keep up with Hudson. Thanks goodness she wears huge bows to cover her little crown of bruises around her head.

Hudson's new car! He loves to drive it all over the house.

This picture wouldn't cooperate either. Me and my sweet boy on Christmas morning.

Waiting patiently in Hadley's new chair for everyone to get ready to open presents.

Hadley is 1!

I can't believe that Hadley is 1! I'm pretty sure that just yesterday I was very pregnant with her and chasing after Hudson. All of the sudden it's a year later and she is a walking, jibber jabbering, singing, sassy little girl. I am so happy for Hadley and so proud of the amazing person she is, but I am so emotional because my sweet little baby isn't a baby anymore... she's a little girl.

Hudson was helping Hadley try on her new rain boots. I can't help but laugh because this is totally their personalities. My sassy little diva just sitting on her thrown while Hudson takes charge of the situation. He even opened all of her presents for her. What a good big brother? She just sat back in her chair and watched him. :)

This picture doesn't give the full effect of the 2 minutes it took Hudson to open all of her presents. He whirled around in tissue paper, dumping all of the gifts on to her lap while she just sat and smiled. It was too funny!

Haddie and her yummy cake. I yelled at Hunter for giving her such a big piece, but "like mother like daughter"... not much left. :)

Hudson (naked) eating Had's birthday cake.

This is how we spent Hadley's birthday. Just hanging out reading and playing all day. The two of them loved it. They had our full attention all day.

Had was reading to me and making the animal noises. What a smart little girl! :)

My two 1 year old kids. Best picture I could get of the 2 of them on Hadley's big day. This was 1 of about 20 tries.

Hadley is 1!!!

Meeting Santa

So... my kids don't like Santa. Both Hadley and Hudson began to hyperventilate when we tried to put them on Santa's lap. So this year it was a "family picture" with Santa.

Being Thankful for My Growing Babies

My babies are growing up way too fast! Hadley will be 1 in just a few weeks and Hudson will be 2 in January. I am so happy for them and sad for me. My little cuddle bugs are becoming so independent... I wish that they would need me forever.

Little Miss Hadley is walking... well pretty much running now. She started walking at 10 months 1 week. She still loves being with mom, but is warming up to everyone else... finally. She is very strong willed and her sassy personality comes out often. She can make the sounds for a dog, pig and turkey. She waves and blows kisses. She is singing (her own tunes), jibber jabbering, saying daddy, momma, baba, cracker, cookie, hot, dog, bye and I swear she said razorback the other day.

Hudson's favorite thing to do (besides playing ball) is calling the Hogs. It is the funniest thing! He does the whole thing and even gets Hadley to raise her arms. In fact, Hadley went on an eating strike a few weeks ago and the only way we could feed her was by Hudson leading everyone in calling the Hogs. When he does that she eats like a champ. Don't come at dinner or you'll think we're nuts... calling the Hogs between every bite. :)

Hudson is our wild man. He loves getting into everything, repeating everything we say, singing Twinkle Twinkle, Row Row Your Boat, ABC's, Happy Birthday, the Mickey Mouse Hot Dog song and counting to 10. Hadley likes to follow him around and copy his tunes he is singing. He doesn't always like her tagging along so we have had our first couple of brother/sister arguments, but Had always sticks out her bottom lip and Hud says, "Sorry, sorry Had" and gives her a hug. It's precious! Hudson's newest thing is calling Hunter and me by our names. It's really funny, but the two of us would much rather be called by mom and dad (not Hut-ner and Kay-wee).

I love my sweet little babies more than anything. I may be sad that they are growing up, but I am so proud of the amazing little people they are becoming. I don't know what I ever did to deserve such wonderful blessings from God. I am so thankful for every minute that I get to spend with my little ones. KS
